Why Your Business Needs a Fire Risk Assessment
A Fire Risk Assessment isn't just good practice — it's a legal requirement. Here's what the law expects, and what FireIntel UK delivers to keep your business compliant, safe and protected.
The Law — and your responsibility
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 places legal responsibility on the 'Responsible Person' — usually the business owner, landlord or premises manager. You must:
- Identify fire hazards and the people at risk.
- Remove or reduce those risks so far as is reasonably practicable.
- Record your findings and provide a clear Emergency Action Plan.
- Review the assessment regularly and whenever circumstances change.
Failure to comply can lead to unlimited fines, prosecution and even imprisonment — and most insurers require a valid, up-to-date FRA before they will pay out after a fire.
